password= (word you used at beginning of year, it is also in back of your labbook)
To upload a document onto the wiki you need to follow these instructions:
1. Type the document onto word (or in google docs)
2. Copy and paste into google docs or you can upload from your folder
3. If you want to add an image you drag the image you want directly from the internet into google docs. DO NOT "INSERT" THE IMAGE!!! This will not work when you go to upload it onto the wiki.
4. On the google docs page, when you are done typing and dragging in pictures, go to "edit html"
5. Copy the embed code
6. Go to the wiki and get to the page you want to edit, then "edit this page".
7. Click on the widget box (the T.V.) on the toolbar.
8. Go to "other html" and paste the embed code here, then save!!!
Embedding a video into the wiki:
We will embed the movie into the wiki using KidsTube.com
Click on this link
Sign in using the class login information from your teacher. Do not create a new account.
Click upload
Fill in title, description of your video, tags (use the phylum and class name as your tag), and globalstudent for the channel.
Click next. Find the video by clicking browse. Click upload. When done it will tell you.
Click My videos and then find your uploaded video
Click on the video to go to its page. It will have an embed code. Copy this.

Go to the wiki page you will be embedding the video into.
Click the widget icon in the edit bar (looks like a TV).
Click other html. Paste the embed code into the html box.
To save your movie: In iMovie08, click Share in the top menu and scroll down to using quicktime.
In the pop-up, name your movie
Choose Desktop for the location
Under Export, choose movie to MPEG-4.
Click Save.
Comic Life
To make comic life into an image:
ChooseFile --> Export ..> Export to image
In the pop up box, choose the following:
comiclife_export.png
For save as : choose the name by using: class period.name of assignment.last name

An anchor is a way to link one part of a page to another. They are often used at the top of a page so that people can jump directly to a section that is farther down without having to scroll to find it.
Anchors have 2 parts.
Part 1: The anchor point. i.e. The place you are linking to.

Exporting your garageband podcast to put on the wiki
From the menu along the top: Choose Share -> Export podcast to disk. The following screen comes up, be sure to have all of these settings:
If you have music as well, you will need to change the audio setting from spoken podcast to music.
This will now be an m4a file. Use the edit bar in the wiki and choose the Insert Images and files icon to upload your podcast.
