How to start working on an event? - read and re-read the Event sheet. Make sure you understand the event description, rules, scoring and materials needed. - check for the exsiting binder or create a new binder/ folder for information. Organize and sort through. No need to recollect information if it is already present. - discuss strategy with your partner. Divide up the event requirements so each partner is doing their share. - go to the links on the HOME page. There is tons of great info already available. Look for previous tests. - use supplies in the lab or search the school library or internet for help For Building Events: - make sure you are very clear on the building specifications. It is vital to be (almost) exact! Make sure you are atleast 1/4-1/2 inch under the specification. - modify or rebuild existing materials - plan to build several and/or test your "contraption". Most building should be completed by February so there is ample time for testing and redesign.
